Happy King’s Birthday.
You may be watching the footy, spending time with family, or perhaps just enjoying a rare quiet day away from work.
Rather than send another email that might get buried in your inbox, I thought I’d send you this.
Over the past few months I’ve been working on something that I wanted to share with you.
As you know, I’ve always been passionate about SR Smith pool slides and the opportunity they represent in Australia.
Once I started thinking about how we grow the category rather than simply compete within it, a number of ideas began to take shape.
Rather than trying to explain them all here, I thought it would be easier to simply show you.
The pages below are some of the projects we’ve been building.
They’re still evolving, but together they form the foundation of a much broader approach to pool ownership, pool utilisation and, hopefully, long-term category growth.
Helping pool owners understand why many pools gradually become underused and how they can become the centre of family life again.
Helping families understand why reserving a slide and needing a slide are often two very different dates.
A collection of slide installations, backyard ideas and real-world examples to help pool owners visualise what’s possible.
Exploring how some pool owners are using platforms such as Swimply, Airbnb and Stayz to generate additional value from their pool.
Helping happy pool owners, friends and family earn rewards by introducing others to Aqua Action.
Helping schools, sporting clubs and community groups raise funds through referrals and community support.
(Coming Soon)
The pages above are only the beginning.
As these projects continue to evolve, we’re also exploring a number of additional opportunities.
These include resources for Swimply hosts, Airbnb and Stayz owners, Build Your Own Slide tools, AI-powered customer assistance and other initiatives designed to help pool owners get more from their pools.
The common theme across all of them is simple:
Helping more people discover what’s possible when a pool becomes an active part of family life again.
One of the reasons I’m sharing this with you personally is that I’ve always found you approachable, willing to listen and genuinely interested in the bigger picture.
There may well be others within the organisation I should be speaking with, but I felt comfortable sharing this with you because you’ve consistently been open to ideas and constructive discussion.
This isn’t intended to be a formal proposal.
It’s simply an opportunity to show you some of the thinking and work that’s been taking place behind the scenes.
Whether these ideas have merit or not, I’d genuinely value your thoughts.
The challenges we’ve faced over the years have forced me to think differently, and in many ways that’s what prompted this entire journey.
Rather than focusing solely on selling more slides, I’ve become increasingly interested in how we can help pool owners get more from their pools and, in doing so, grow the category itself.
If you think there’s something worth discussing here, I’d be grateful if you could spare 10 minutes sometime over the coming weeks for a quick chat.
Thanks for taking the time to have a look.
Regards,
Fred Fliedner
